HTML ColorSelect is a bare bones application in which you can open a PICT file and select a single pixel color. It then displays the hexadecimal value for it*. You can also use the color wheel picker to select a color. This is shareware $5 -- if you are a student (like me) and on a limited budget, send me a postcard instead.
Things you might want to know:
--The PICT file opens at a fixed width and height: in other words your image will be scaled.
--You can only open one PICT file at a time; to open another PICT file, just select 'open' from the File menu.
--The 'arrow' cursor doesn't change into the 'dropper' cursor.
--There is a little bug in the program that I've noticed...when the 'cancel' button is clicked in the 'open file' dialog box, an error message of "not enough memory" pops up. Click OK, and for the time being, please try to ignore it.
Things I plan to work on:
--Fix that bug!
--Have a resizeable window for the image.
--Change the arrow cursor to the dropper cursor when selecting a color.
--Ability to open various image file types.
--Get a life.
Have fun!
